Sadie Lane Wright

Sadie Lane Wright
7 lbs 10 oz
21 in. long
12:13 p.m.

Wednesday the 27th, I had my weekly Doctors appointment and checked in at 5 cm dialated and 70% effaced. I left with my doctor saying that she'd be coming any day now and my bag of waters was "fixin to bust".  I didn't really believe her since she had been telling me that for WEEKS now. Just in case she had set an induction date for May 4th, when I would be 39 weeks. I left content knowing that if anything, I only had a week left.
So I went on with the rest of my day with the usual cramping that comes along with getting checked. I was determined to get her out soon so I kept myself busy with laundry and picking the house up. Tyler got home from school and demanded that we were going to have a baby tonight. So we walked and walked and walked around our neighborhood until 9 p.m. and my contractions were getting quite a bit stronger. They were still at 10 minutes apart but being at a 5 I got nervous that I was going to have this baby at home. So for the next few hours we were debating on whether or not to go into L&D. Finally at 11:30 we decided to go in and got everthing packed and ready to go. The whole way there I remember hoping it was a false alarm because of the major change that would be coming our way. Sure enough when we got there and I got all hooked up, I was at a 6 and got admitted yay! I progressed really smoothly and just sat there soaking up every minute.  At 2 I was at a 7 then at 3:30 I was at an 8 with almost 0 pain. At that point I started worrying that I wasn't going to get an epidural in time for delivery so I told my nurse, and got one put in at 4:30. My doctor was supposed to come in at 7:30 to break my water but got caught up in surgery until 10:30.  When he came in he joked around with us for a few minutes then broke my water and said that I was at a 9 and 90% effaced. After that time just flew by and I was ready to push. I pushed for a little over 5 minutes and out she came with the most beautiful dark hair that I had been praying for and the chubbiest cheeks. They laid her on my chest and we just sat and looked at eachother for a few sweet moments while they cleaned her off and I got stitched up. She knew exactly who I was and just stared at me while I talked to her. One of the best moments.
To say the least, it was an easy delivery and very very enjoyable. My doctor told me it was one of the easiest deliveries he's ever had. I guess I am blessed!

Sadie is such a sweetheart and a very easy baby. I soak up all of my time with her and we just can't get enough. Tyler calls me the baby hog since I don't like sharing her very much. She's a good eater (after a week of pain and tears), and is a semi good sleeper. She'll be three weeks tomorrow and we're finally getting the hang of juggling two kids. We're pretty blessed!
